are dual exhausts better for power than single then, would hope so as there would be extra weight to carry along, they do look good though .

Bling bling? look at the hp gain, 55 at rear wheels. thats around 15 hp gain.
65hp at wheels with modded engine,,, now thats what the renegade makes at the crank. do it and i want a go (pleeeeezeeeee) thats got to touch a ton on tarmac......
the raptor has twin headers so would guess that whole twin pipes would clear the exhaust gases faster and allow a bigger bore without too much extra noise?

wow, go for it Malcolm, trouble is, as has been discussed elsewhere, its possible that too much flow through an exhaust might reduce back-pressure on the engine and lower power output, this is quite a scientific subject and i am no scientist, can i have a go to Malcolm, please .

Lets presume for a momnet it will do a ton on tarmic, would anybody really do that (apart from a really quick burst) ?

I rode my quad at about 65 MPH to the garage the other day and the wind resistance was definately evident. I cant imagine what 80, 90 or 100 would be like.

i have done 145mph on a bike and that was great, for the 5 minutes that i could hang on:scared::scared:

It will be very intresting to see what can be achived i have gone for the monster quad dual exaust ordered from usa £350 plus £25.00 postage sorry shipping, as long as i dont get cobbled import and vat taxes will be a bargain

I would expect the jetting would have to be altered to get the best out of any exhaust unless it's E.F.I and even then the mapping would have to be changed.

Raptorman

it is EFI, will look at that when fitted unless anyone knows if i need to change efi unit which again can be ordered from states at reasonable cost

Would not appeal to me .

EFI. can handle the fuel and air mixture by itself, but if you want maximum power then the ECU may need re-mapping.

This is where i am at, have priced a 3 mod conversion popular in the states on raptors , dual exhausts air filter replcement and a 'mapped' ecu unit.
Cost £625.00
Now the problem, this does not inc vat or import duty i am told will add approx £300.00 from another member on a US raptor forum(a very good site for the raptor owners) my heart says go for it my head says no.
So at mo not done anything, i have also contacted another raptor owner who just has exhaust fitted and tells me quad runs perfect with it fitted this would cost £600 in uk and half that amount from US plus duties but the 'seller' said he would mark down cost on customs form, i might go for this option only for the looks alone.
I will let you know :amen:

Malcolm had never ridden a quad or bike before he got his raptor. took him out on his first ever green laning day and to his credit, by the end of the day he was practically keeping up with me. :)
