Well once again I'm feeling under the weather and I could not sleep so I came down stairs and looked to see what rubbish Sky had to offer when I came across this stuff. You deflate your tyre and then poor in the liquid, then re-inflate your tyre drive it for a mile to line the tyre and hay presto. If you get a small puncture it seals it instantly, they proved this by having a board with five nails in line and drove over it one tyre had the gunk in it and the other didn't. And drove away with one inflated and one punctured tyre, you can purchase this stuff from idealworld.tv .

Saw an add the other day in a old QUAD Mag for a plasitc/foam type insert that the racing boys use will handle major puncture and you can still finish the race or get home etc.
Not cheap mind you best part of a couple of hundrad quid for a set of 4 off!!!!!
I guess it depends on how much you like pushing V Riding!!!

Iv'e seen these tyre jonnies or whatever they are called and I suppose they are good if they get you home but i've never been able to work out why they cost so much. The ones I saw were £195 for a set of 4, I've just bought and fitted 4 new tyres for the same price. All they seem to be is a straight bit of hard foam. Has anyone used them, are they really worth that price?

its a convenience thing so the price is high, i suspect a high mark-up also comes into the equation

Please excuse the title!

What about these Tyre Balls?
Look like rubber balls you put inside the tyre similar idea to the tyre jonnies I guess!

I have used the gloop / liquid stuff on the mountain bike, it seemed to work OK ish!! but lets you down when a puncture is bigger than a pin hole!

I dont like pushing a Quad so any advice / ideas whats best?
1. Gloop/liquid stuff £25 ish
V
2. Tyre Jonnies £200 ish
V
3 Tyre Balls £ 100 ish

The last puncture I had on my mountain bike I took the inner tube out which was pre-filled with that green stuff and blew it up to see where the hole was. Then I watched this green stuff come out and then the inner tube went flat. Sort of lost confidence in it after that.

i mentioned this in another post, but superglue is great for small punctures, i have used it 3 times with no leaks or adverse effects, in fact it probably lasts longer than the tyres .
