I assume Gary will want to get his nice shiny Outlaw filthy on the first weekend of ownership :D .
What sort of ride would you like to do Gary, we can plan something to suit a quad being run in .
A nice easy going route that could take in a visit to a local bacon sarnie selling establishment for lunch :):D .
It would be good if we could get a decent quad turnout .

Hi,

Still not sure exactly when it will arrive as it's being shipped from Scotland. Estimate is 7- 10 days from Wednesday this week when it is getting its PDI and de-restriction done. Dealer then hands it over to a nationwide bike delivery company who do the delivery in three chunks aparrently.

So based on that, i'm looking at something like Friday 2nd Nov, but I gusss it could slip until the following week. I'll have a much better idea later this week.

I do have the registration number though as it got registered today:)

Not quite sure what I can do whilst running in, so i'll take your advice, but my idea is to do someting pretty tame and watch you guys do the silly stuff until i'm a little more comfortable and the bike is ok to be let out a bit more.

Look forward to meeting some of you soon.

Gary

If its like the Pred then you will need to do an oil change at 100 miles after the initial break-in period .
Steve Berry sells a Polaris oil change kit at £31 which is ok for the first change as you will need a filter, filter cover seal (as a spare, i dont change my seal `O` ring every time) three quarts of PS4 oil and a can of chain lube .
You will only need 2.25 quarts so next oil change you will only need to buy two quarts as you will have some left over .
You can buy the oil filters very cheaply on ebay, £15 for 6 i think .
As for riding, i rode the first 100 miles gently on road keeping below 45mph and avoiding quick acceleration, after that i built the speed and acceleration up gradually until 500 miles when it was nicely loosened up .
After 100 miles i think it would be fine to come out with us on a ride, we can combine road and off road easily, the byways around here are quite gentle so your quad will be fine .

Gary,

You'll get some running in instructions with the bike. The general rules are usually; no max throttle for 100 miles. Dont stay at the same throttle for any length of time, keep varying it. No fast acceleration.

In effect, you just need to be a bit steady for a few weeks.

Many of the trails we do will be fine as long as you will be going slow and varying speed all the time. Its very rare you would do over 30 MPH on a trial as there are too many rutts and obstructions.

Danny.

Some good advice from the forum-meister ;)
The first 100 miles is the most important, a lot of people only run in for the first 100 miles then go mental, wonder how long their engines last ?
