My previouse Quad was a QZ with a twist throttle, the polaris i now have is a more standard Thumb Throttle.

Since been punished by Red Pred on the Basingstoke North route last saturday, I have had major problems with my thumb !! Im not joking here. Its bloody painful. Bit worried now as its been going on for days. When I wake up on a morning and move my fingers my thumb makes a strange clicking sound and hurts like hell :eek:

It kind of feel like my thumbs been bent back on its-slef.

Had anyone else had this kind of injury and how long does it take to heal ?

Better ring the Doctor. :o :o

Big heavy quads tend to have heavy throttles LOL, sounds like you need to get some thumb exercises or a twist throttle .

Looks like im out of action due to injury this weekend Guys. :(:(:(

Looks like its a great oppertunity to assess your Quads swmiming and water resistance abilities ;)

You need to get a thumb assist what i have got on mine,it clamps the original thumb throttle it is longer so you can use your palm if you find it easier. If you have a look on ebay they do them on there for about £14.99 hope your thumb feels better soon mate.

If you are not there, who will now ride into a deep ditch ?
Take it easy mate and dont spend all day sunday twiddling your thumbs, it will hurt .:D

Ordered one of those thumb assist things. Im seriously thinking of getting one of those combined, thumb/twist throttles. Thats has to be a go way to go.
Problem is my Polaris has some complex throttle system to shut everything off if the throttle cable becomes stuck so im not sure how it would work with a new new system.

Fitted one of those Thumb assist things and i must say im impressed. You can actully operate the throttle with the heal of your have rather than the thumb making cruising a lot of comfortable.

havnt found any disadvantages yet but im sure ill find some eventually,
