Hi, i'm at a wedding in Cornwall fri, sat, sun but free on monday and wednesday [dentist on Tuesday]. Not back till late sunday so wednesday is pref. Went out today up to marlbourgh and back towards Salisbury plain, did about 160 miles. bit scarey in the muddy bits on your own, if you get stuck what do you do.

Hi Outlander.
Im thinking Wednesday. Theres a good cross country route from near Newbury to the plain. Never been there during the week but i believe some part are likely to be closed off for military training.
I know what you mean about been on your own. Theres loads of routes i wont take unless i have others with me. I have never been stuck since i got the Pol scrambler though *touch wood*. I dont have a winch fitted at the moment but carry a tow rope.
We can confirm on monday, if thats ok with you.

Hi, sounds good to me. No problems for us then, you've got a tow rope and i've got a winch! Reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson when he got the Discovery stuck - no problem we just put the winch round the nearest tree. Can anyone see a tree.

Lol i remember that Top gear, very funny.
The areas in west berks seem to have more of an issue with ruts than mud really. After years of practice i think most of us have got use to them. A few of our members have Preditors and they get stuck more because they have such a loe groud clearance. Have to say it takes a lot more skill to do rutted lanes on those than it does for us high clearance 4x4's
I bet you dont even feel a lot of the ruts on a outlander. I really like those Quads.

Another contributive factor to this is that you are old. :)

Outlander and I have had a great ride out on this today. The rain had made the mud just the consistancyto be great 4x4 ATV country :-) Some deep water along the trails atm too. I think the preds may have struggled a bit.
The Army had the red flags out on the southern end of salisbury plain today so we kept well clear of that area :-)

Im sure it wont be long before we are there again Rob. In some ways the trails around the plain are better than the plain itself, it kind of binds and connects all the greenlanes in the area together.
Theres loads over there that we still have to explore yet .
