My kids will have to buy their own cars, make them work for what they want, I think that is the best way to give them a work ethic these days .

they certainly will appreciate/look after their cars more if it came out of their own pockets.
They would also probably understand that if you cant afford it then you cant have it.

Agree 100% Andy, its not easy to instill a work ethic in kids these days, some of the kids my two are friends with have everything they want all the time and value nothing, my two will grow up to be grafters which will stand them in good stead because in this life you only prosper if you graft .

Of course you are all correct they should pay there own way but all the time I want to buy them cars ect through all my mates in the trade I will. I just bought my misseses eldest daughter a car as the saab convertable I gave her she cooked up and I couldnt be bothered to do a head gasket on it so I scrapped it.
As for my son he works harder than hard, he takes home more a week than most people would dream of earning, I know because I pay him lol
He has never been work shy all through his spoilt life! he runs and manages his own football team dosnt drink much dosnt do drugs, trains hard, pulls some of the most beatifull ladys you could imagine uses them and chucks them, has the most superb manners when needed, has a blinding sence of humor and to be honest I could not ask for a better son , now as for his worthless work shy sister -----------well what can I say other than she thinks Im made of money

My daughter moved away at 21 to work in a school at chelmsford set up home and now training to be a teacher.
I feel so bad because had i not brought her a car she would have done so much better for herself i feel so ashamed :rip_1:

All the bikes and such items I have bought my son have bought me as much pleasure working on them as it has watching him race them and racing againts him (and looseing)
A day at the race track with family and friends is one of the best days out ever and is made even better when ones off spring brings home yet another trophy not just for his riding ability but for my superb suspension and motor work that allowed him to achieve such things lol
As for my daughter I give here a car and she lends it to some worthless sod that has no job no licence no hope and no future and he writes it off running from the law while pissed and to top it all off then says she is having his baby!!!!
Oh where did I go wrong??????????????????????? Oh I know its not my fault its just that all my kids have differant mothers lol
