I believe that Honda have stated that they will never produce a road legal. I read a statment on their site which said that they consider Quads to be unsuitable for the road in any circumstance.

It will be intresting to see WHEN they change there mind on this. its amazing how suitable things become when the market is big enough to provide a sizable economic model.

Probably explains why i have only ever see Honda's at racing events and Quad experiance parks.

the only jap company that makes road legal is yamaha with their 350 raptor

they worry about people getting hurt on quads but then i remember when they relesed the mad a f fireblade
howmany people crashed one of them in the first year
i agree though if the market get big enough they will start to sell them rl

there's a quad garage called exeter quads, they are pro's when it comes to making bike's road legal, type the name into ask and they have a website.

all the japs were of the opinion that they will never make a road legal quad. Yamaha then went ahead and created one anyway.
Many years back quads were of fairly low power. Apparently the manufacturers were afraid that their american users may have a accident and sue them. then yamaha brought out a 660... Just goes to show that if the demand is right..... With the current sale of raptors going through the roof will not be surprised if yamaha dont think about a road legal version and maybe even more cc,s to keep the speed merchants happy...

Compared to bikes, quads still are low power :rolleyes: .
When the next big Jap green laner comes out then so will my cheque book :D:D .
It would be great to have a factory converted road legal quad, no more relying on dodgy dealers (although there are some good ones) or used sales on ebay, you would know exactly what standard it has been made to, way to go i think .

they have only said this because honda's are dangerous on roads, we off loaded the honda that we hired half way up the drive to the lochdoon car park and on the way up i went around a little bend at 20kmh and the whole back went, they are brilliant quads but they are not very good road quads in my opinion.

I dont believe Hondas are any more dangerous than any other quad, remember a quad needs a rider, who would think a Predator is dangerous, it bloody is when i get on one, do you get the point lol .

i don't know about the new hondas but the old ones are dangerious, 20kmh around a small easy corner road was dry and tyres were good and the next thing i know i am going sideways, quite fun, now i no why the crazy scotsman drive's like that.:D

Are you sure the honda you rode had all its wheels on lol, loads of things affect cornering, it may have had a low tyre pressure one side or it may be that you are not a very good rider ;):D

just looking at wellzys quad gives some sort of an idea about his riding abilities ??
How well you handle a machine is only part of the skill, another part is reading the ground you are about to ride over and adjusting what you are doing to compensate for what is approaching. It takes experience to learn this. ;)
I would guess that at 15 you have a lot to learn yet and another 4 years and you may be able to learn how to handle a quad on the road which is nothing like riding on dirt.

?When we are doing 50mph+ along some bumpy track that is barely wider that the quad then a spill or two is to be expected.

Very true, but when your doing 30mph on a wide section with plenty space to move its always best to avoid the branch sticking out. Don't you think RP?:bangin::D:D:D
