i think we should do an evening ride soon, do a friday night, start at say 7pm and do a shortish route (say 3 hours) locally and end up at a kebab van or whatever .
What say you ?

Sounds good to me, i suggested that the Devils highway would be a good lane to do as part of a dark night ride.

There are a few other lanes around there as well.

The devils highway is ok but not exciting and only a couple of miles long, I think the Basingstoke south or Hannington routes would be better as we can get you in the woods
I think the uphill wooded section near Herriard would be very scary and dark .
Lets have a vote on it, then declare that the Basingstoke south route is best :D, some very dark lanes near Ellisfield, apparently there is a rapist who lives in the woods there, that preys on lone quad riders so you had better keep up Danny .
This would be a cracking night ride, just one question, who is going to lead, I am too scared LOL .
Danny, I will send you an updated route .

Whole ride should'nt be more than 2 hours, and we should only go in good wether conditions.

A great ride last night, I really like night riding, it feels faster than daytime riding and is very exciting .
I did not realise that the quads lights would create fear as they do , the problem is that they illuminate the flat surfaces which leaves the area behind bumps and rocks etc unlit and makes the holes seem bigger than they are, this is ok if you know the track well but there are areas where the holes are big and can catch you out .
A great experience and one which we will do again, the kebab was good too .

Was there any highlights of the evening apart from the kebab. And did you get any looks from anyone seeing you out at night.

We did get some looks at the petrol station and some lads in Overton who were very interested in the quads and we had a chat with them for a while .
We had a scramble around the woods near Overton which was good and very dangerous because it would have been easy to smack into a tree if you let your concentration lapse a bit .
All in all, great fun .
