Anyone know if this is a right of way? Track 501. I ask as when I was out at the weekend I was just about to go down the track from East to west when I had to wait for a horse. The rider told me the track was only a Bridleway and permission was being sought to change it to a Right of Way. Needless to say I didn't want to get Quads a bad name so I turned round.

My OS map shows it as being a Right of Way and so does the Hampshire Council Definitive map.

It would be handy if it was open to motor vehicles as it makes a good little roundabout route for me. Or should I ring the Council and find out?

Byway 501 is a byway currently open to ALL traffic.
when you are viewing the cc/row map there is a "i" below the + and -. click the i then click on the route in question and it will tell you the status of that route.
you have to be accurate clicking on it else it will tell you to fook off !!!! ;)

I have found this slightly updated version.

http://www.hants.gov.uk/rh/row/maps/definitive-maps.pdf

Caution. It takes a little while to download.

You can download sections to store on your PC though.

If anyone knows a way to get it on to a Road Angel/Memory Map 2800 let me know. I know you can geo reference your own maps with MM. Not sure how easy it is to do or if indeed it would be worth it in this case.

Went on the Right of Way yesterday. Then turned right on a marked track. Right at the there wer two felled tress through which I gingerly squeezed the Quad. Very tight fit. maybe I should have been down there. Anyway not worth going that way in future.
