Walking round the Quad show this weekend, I realised that the main age group for quad enthusiast appears not to be the under 25's but the 45-30's age group.

I am begining to suspect that Quads and ATV's have some strange mid life crisis appeal. I can say this with some knowledge as I myself am 40 next month.

The public image and perceptions of Quads being thrashed through the countryside by youthful tearaways is only partially correct. In fact we are semi-old, baulding ex-Abba and Dire Straits fans looking for some meaning and reason to get away from Homes, Mortgages, kids, DIY and dare i say it wifes/Girlfriends (or parners if you bat for the otherside).

OR

Perhaps good Quads are so damn exensive that only those who are settled in life can afford them :) . As i keep saying to my wife, 'its cheaper than taking up boating'.

Please discuss.... let rip.

ABBA, Dire Straits-get out of here, I could never be so middle of the road and respectable, I was and am still into The Sex Pistols, The Damned, The Clash, Dead Kennedys, Motorhead, Metallica, The Who, ACDC, and anybody else who has sung or played a guitar in anger :D, christ, you will be saying you like classical music next and I am not ready for my pipe and slippers

The ages are right though, teenagers have their low insurance chavved up vauxhall novas, twenties have their GTI inspired cars, midlifes have family saloons or mpvs and quads, fifties have their posh upmarket family saloons and coming in behind at 60 plus you have the status quo brigade on their Outlanders LOL .:D

Hey I'm only just 50. Does this mean I've bought my quad 10 years too soon.

LOL, that joke was for Danny who likes huge quads with armchair comfort and wants an Outlander, in five years time when I am 50 I want something like an Outlander, my aged body sometimes struggles with pulling my Pred out of ruts and bogs . four wheel drive is the way forwards, whatever the conditions .

CRV, whats that Nige, I have always said, `you are as old as the woman you feel`, bugger, that makes me 50
Age is just a number , trouble is that the bigger the number the worse you feel

That CRV is very average 2.4 children, sorry NJK just a common opinion, I run a citroen Berlingo Multispace so you can shoot me down if you like LOL .
Actually, the Berlingo is on the Top Gear cool wall, clarkson reckons they are great cars and offer real value for money, personally I dont give a toss about cars and run it because I can get all my kids in it and all my amps, speakers and guitars in for gigs, oh yeah, and its cheap :D .

Well it was going to be a Audi A4 convertable but I thought it's not that good for going down tracks. So I test drove some 4X4's and the CRV seemed to still drive like a car.

Its a Honda so it must be good, top for reliability .
Cars dont do anything for me, (although a Caterham would be good) never have, just a means of getting from A to B with music and a heater in winter .
I like bikes and quads .
