Well I went to the show today and was a little bit disappointed. There was a lack of stands and people if I'm honest, but I would like too thank the company's that did make the effort to turn up. Some of the stands were offering some good discounts on quads/ buggies and other products, but as I said so little stands. There was a display team there and although there was a lack of organization, the guys did show some good bike skills.
My highlight of the day was a passenger ride in a Rage buggie, this has a Honda Fire blade engine in it and the driver had it screaming all the way round the track. It was worth the £15.

Thanks for the update Nige.
Pleased that the day wasnt a total right-off for you.
I guess it is the 'first' uk quad show and thats a very ambitions undertaking. I think it takes a lot of guts and commitment to plan something like this. Not sure i would have been able to do it.
Im looking forward to going tomorrow as no matter what the shows like, a day out with the gang will be fun.
The big Questions ??????
Was there a Beer tent, and what was it like :-). I believe Red Pred has his heart set on a Hog roast as well lol lol

Yes I don't want to stop anyone from going because it's important that these things progress. I'm just saying don't get your hope's too high.
And yes beer and hog roast are next to one another behind the MKM stand.

NJK is correct, the quad show was a big disappointment, I cant believe how poorly attended it was and what a poor showing from the manufacturers and retailers, the display show was not great either .
THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT WAS NOT SEEING A PIG WITH A SKEWER IN ONE END AND OUT THE OTHER AND SLOWLY BURNING OVER A FIRE-THAT IS A HOG ROAST-NOT A LARGE JOINT OF PORK COOKED IN THE OVEN .
On this basis, it is clear that quadding is not the large and growing leisure activity we like to think it is .

Just cleared the site at the showground and as the organisor would like to thank those of you from this forum who attended,I was very keen to get back on the site and read feedback from all members of qh,quadsuk, bhqta and southernbikes etc(sorry if i have missed you out)
1.the show broke even
2.the gate was busiest sunday morning with over 1000 wristbands sold between 10-12pm
3.the overall attendance figures are 3796-which although we had hoped for more isnt that concerning considering its the first event.
4.six main dealers let us down during the last few days of the show.
5.Big hits-rage buggies-the stunt show(how can you say they where just ok-you try and do what andy hobbs does in front of a crowd-and the solo boys didnt let us down)dan magness freestyle footballer-absolutely sensational.-the off road enduro track had all positive comments with probably 20-30 bikes during both afternoons-the green laning/byways also proved popular with 14 on saturday and 9 on sunday-where else does this happen?
friday night road rally bit hectic as traffic was heavy in towcester and was more to showpiece the show and visit the entrance to the off road site.
6.security was no issue as had quad secure lock up with cctv.
7.lots of newbies came on two seaters- can ams etc which was great
8.nearly all quad owners pledged to come next year
9.majority of dealer stands selling quads have pledged for next year
10.venue is right-distance from people cannot be odds-everbody travels to any event.
WHAT WE NEED TO DO NEXT YEAR.
1.more dealer stands who show up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2.more family events-already got bungee trampolines &rodeo bull ride-keeping archery and nanna animal charity.
3.quad all terrain challenge for 4x4/utility bikes
4.all quad owners prebooked and campsite.
DOWNFALLS
1.NO HELMETS ABOUT THE PLACE2.RACING IN THE CAMPSITE WITH FAMILIES /KIDS AROUND(PATHETIC)3.CONFUSION REGARDING ROAD LEGAL AND OFF ROAD AREA-SOME PEOPLE IN ROAD RIDEOUT TO OFF ROAD SITE WITH NO NUMBERPLATES AND CLEARLY NOT ROAD LEGAL-THIS WAS A BIT OF OUR FAULT TOO AS WE HAD TWO LANES ONE GOING TO OFF ROAD(VIA THE ROAD) ONE GOING TO GREENLANES/BYWAYS (THANKS DAVE 4 WHEELER CREW)WASNT CLEAR RE TRAILORING BIKES THAT HAD NO PLATES/TAX ETC.
WE HAVE BEEN OFFERED THE VENUE LONG TERM AND ARE GOING TO BUILD THIS SHOW TO BE THE BEST-YES YOU ARE RIGHT THE INTEREST IN QUAD BIKES WOULDNT FINANCIALLY BALANCE A LARGE SHOW UNTIL MORE PUBLIC/FAMILIES ARE ENTICED TO ATTEND WHICH IS WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO. NEGATIVE COMMENTS ONLY FUEL LACK OF RESPONSE NEXT YEAR AND TO BE QUITE HONEST THE £12 ENTRY FEE IS A LONG WAY SHORT OF PAYBACK REGARDING OUR ENTHUSIASM TO MAKE THIS SHOW WORK-IT WILL ONLY WORK IF WE ALL WANT IT TO -SO ITS UP TO ALL OF US TO ENSURE THIS HAPPENS-OTHERWISE WE WILL ALWAYS BE REGARDED AS THE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS OF THE VEHICLE WORLD.
WE AS ORGANISORS ARE VERY HAPPY AT THE WAY IT WENT-THE EMAILS WE HAVE RECIEVED TODAY HAVE MEANT A LOT TO US AND THIS ALONE WILL ENSURE THIS EVENT CONTINUES.
DISTANCE-AND TOO FAR ARE NO LONGER AN EXCUSE

Thanks very much for the update.
We are all very intrested in making sure the Quad Show is something that stays and grows.
The dealers who failed to attend need to seriouse review their commercial strategy. The Quadshow is a landmark event for the UK Quad Industry, their Lack of support has been noticed by the enthusiasts. People who attend the Quadshow are the money spenders.
We will be happy to support again next year.
Cheers

Please don't think I was criticising you,I was just pointing out that not many dealers, after market parts suppliers and manufactures had made the effort to display their brands. And also it seemed that a lack of public interest was there on Saturday, maybe some publicity may help for next year. All the best for the next event.

Its the first show its all about learning for everyone it may take a generation to really take off if us 'mlcs' mid life crisis dads introduce our childern who get hooked and so on just like footballl clubs that arrange open days to attract children they are the furture customers, its like any business you do not become a success over night it takes time.

The only losers are the retailers who did not show, I imagine a lot of people had a wad to spend at the show, their loss .
I am sure it will grow in size and stature, it certainly has a committed organisation behind it, all it needs is support from all connected to quadding whether punters or trade .
