The attached link is a PDF outlining a proposed TRO for the Byway at Beedon. It took a lot of finding on the west berks website.

I have done this lane many times in the past and there is defiantly a problem in regard to 4x4's vehicles making a big mess. Although im not too surprised about this I am a bit disappointed. The proposals are to either introduce a seasonal restriction, which isnt so bad or restrict it to motorcycles only (not good for us). Its implies that the TRF support the restrictions.

What i find interesting is that this document shows quite a balanced viewpoint from west berks. Please read pages 13 - 28 if you get a chance.

If anyone finds documents similar to this outlining plans to TRO anywhere in our area please post them.

What do people think about approaching the counciler concerned and the rights of way officer with some facts about quads and quad trail riding?

After all we have less ground / enviromental impact than most?

the theory is great but tried similar years ago with hants RoW officer proposing weight limit rather thanwheel limit on the basis that sports quads in particular have a flattening effect on the ground rather than digging ruts but they dont care !

Is a good point jagd.

The problem with all this legal Rights of way stuff is it takes a lot of time and commitment to have your voice heard. Some motor clubs have designated right of way officers to deal with all the council and legal stuff. It helps if you understand how councils work and how they make their decisions.

If anyone wants to be a crusader for the BHQTA in these issues please put up your hand. Local politics is a bit beyond me but i try to support when and where i can. I think the TRF should think a bit more about Quads and give better representation.

If byways start closing soon by the dozen and we are really limited to where we can go, i will start running them illegally as i will not have my rights shat on by some hipocrite ****ers in suits who have no idea about our way of life.
