The area for this ride will be around and onto Salisbury Plane. Much of the route is new to all of us but i am expecting a fairly flat, minimum rut type of ride. Once we are on the plain Navigation will be difficult due to the sheer amout of tracks that have been created by the Army (ill post a picture so you can see what i mean). We need to make sure we get the correct ones so i expect we will be stopping fairly frequently just to get our bearings.

Meet up will probably be early near tidworth.

Please can you indicate if your likely to attend.

Cheers

Danny.

I went and did a reccy of the area today and had a great time. There are loads of byways around the area and they are not too rutted.

This part of Salisbury plain is flat with well defined byways and some partialy metaled roads. You have to sick to the definded routes, the out of bound area are very tempting, but best to keep clear. I was approached by an Army officer who just told me to be careful as they had an exercise on involving Warrior tanks.

The start of the ride is a Long way from Newbury, About 24 miles and the ride itself is going to be around 40. Ive mapped some petrol stations along the way.

Ill put some pics and the route up a bit later.

My parents were married when I was born so an incorrect slandering there, you younger motherf**ker :D::):cool:
My back is always a problem and always will be touch and go, there is a curvature of the spine caused by a motorbike crash in 1981 FFS .
50% of the time it is fine, but the rest is crap and spoils life a bit, oh well, stop moaning and get on with it eh .

In case anyones intrested, the data from the GPS on Sunday stated that I covered 81.8 miles on our ride. Those that came from basingstoke and farnborough can add another 20 on to that.
