Hello anybody home !! a bit tongue in check me thinks, any of the above makes will do perfect the Raptor being expensive second hand, I have just brought a Suzuki ltz400 on a 58 plate for £2900 a 58 Raptor around the £5000 mark.
Having ridden the two I do prefer the raptor but its all about budgets and use.

for all round sports riding the Raptor has got to be the first choice fast grunty very reliable but is expensive to buy, spares easy to come by, cant knock the good old QZ unless your name is PUX he finds them to fast and prefers to push a engineless quad around for some strange reason. KTM is a blinding piece of engineering and as tough as a sledge hammer will require a fair bit of regular engine maintainence. LTZs are fun, pull wheelies with ease will go anywhere the other quads will go and are cheap to buy and run , like Secret said you have to pick what you think will suit you best, and that why I bought a Kwack

Hi Mark
It was nice to meet you yesterday, told you you would be converted as soon as you rode one.
At SEVERE RISK of getting a LOTof stick from the Sports Boys!
The 4x4 selection widens your scope a fair bit and can always be used as an excellent Raptor or TRX recovery system!:brick:
:fencing:
I love my Arctic Cat but could possibly be converted to a TRX!
IRS is a must if you havent got 4x4:agree:
Look forward to seeing you on the trails on four wheels soon.

you could alway get a "sherbert saucers" quad, great low down grunt, loads of top end power for not a lot of money, i think new they are about £19.22

Someone on QH suggested to him to buy a qz450 as they are pretty reliable but his reply was if he ever found out where the poster lived he would come round and take a dump through his letterbox :scared:

Mark,
Great to meet you yesterday and boy as I said "You must be aching today" I must say picking up the back of the pack on the Brute you done well to keep on sometimes, my heart miss a few beats watching you ride so god knows what you **** was twitching like. It was my Brute Force you had a go on yesterday and what i would advise now is to get a blast on one of those sports quad, I agree with Graham that to do the trails we were doing yesterday IRS is a must.
So a TRX700 or a Pred 500 Outlaw could be good options, but i would have hoped that with such a big quads as the KVF and the Arctic Cat showed you that they are no slow coaches.
And believe me their great at pulling those Sports quads out of the mud when they get stuck, and if you ride with us some more you will see this to prove my point.

It would possibly be a good idea to avoid the Polaris Outlaw 500, they are very prone to failure of bushes and joints, just a friendly bit of advice .

Basically you have four choices ;
1. The most common, a sports quad like the Raptor
2. A 4x4 quad
3. The new Honda TRX700 with its IRS set up (limited availability at present)
4. A starter quad like a QZ250 etc
Which do you fancy the idea of ?

4th May 2010, 10:25 PM
I would go for a 4x4 ....
But I’m biased
