Got my bike back at last from the warrenty job, new speedo fitted as expected.
In addtion I had the following done.
Oil & filter change,
Spark plug fitted
Tappets check and adjusted
Timing checked and adjusted
CV boot checked and greased
All grease nipples greased
Brakes checked and adjusted.
3 Hours labour as you have to take the whole front end apart just to get at the spark plug and tappets.
Total £138. All parts and oils where Pure Polaris. I didnt think that was too bad. I could of course done some of the stuff myself but i didnt really want to have to get at the spark plug/tappets myself so just kind of dumped it all in there to save me the bother.
Job done by Berrys Farm Services near Basingstoke.
Im now taking the front end apart again to put in the 12v cigar socket :D

I would of done it normally but I would not get it back in time for the race so I got Nick to do it for me.

Theres a lot to be said for been able to do your own servicing. its no problem changing the oil, but when it comes to touching anything on the engine id rather not.
On my old QZ i installed some new rear pads incorrectly !!!! Im afraid mechanics has never really been my forte, and id rather pay someone else than bugger it up.
Its probably more of a confidance thing i guess.

i would recommend to anyone who has one of these machines to own a Polaris Pure Service manual, they are full of tech info to allow even the modest of knowledge to feel like a polaris tech themselves, give you every bit of info you would need to rebuild your machine!

Thanks for that Gen3.
I have one now that I downloaded from a site in the states. It is very good and i would imaging that in the hands of a moderatly capable mech it would be a powerful tool. :-)
As i am a total kluts, i may still have a problem. :-)
