outlander

Had a phone call from Gary (Upperdean, Simon) yesterday who is on holiday in France to say he's had his garage broken into and his quad stolen.
If anyone hears or sees a red outlander 800xt for sale could they please steel it back for him.
Has anyone ever got a stolen quad back?

Yep! A lady in Sussex got one of her stolen Masai's back since I posted the details up on several forums. QH contacted me to say that the police were investigating a bloke and had recovered a quad that matched the description about 6 months later. Result! There is some chance of seeing a lost quad again hopefully.

Whether you would want it back after they had ragged it to death is another matter.....

I think we should give the Pikeys a break, they are not all thieves and there are a lot of them who make an honest living, we should get off their backs .

No I am not, I suppose you are a member of the nazi party, that would explain your hatred of minority groups .
I bought some lucky heather back in 1981, the year I smashed my leg in a bike accident, caught Meningitis, lost my job and girlfriend who I loved deeply, because of that heather I never gave up hope .
We should be grateful to these unpaid Wombles who keep our streets clean .

I know of someone on another forum who happened to mentioned in a forum post that he lived just up the road from a well known off road site and soon afterwards , his garage got burgled and two quads got knicked. I'm careful what I post on public forums these days as a result after his experience

Maybe the forum should be changed so only a very small portion of it is open directly to the public?

What do you guys think????????????????????

I think we should treat the noble travelling folk with the same respect we show our families .
Just because a few have stolen in the past, it does not mean they are all thieving nomads .

Give a gypsy a break .

Thanks for reminding us about that thread Danny, I had forgotton about the rusty Polaris 800 on the farm near James with only a piece of rope & a 4 ft high dog (on all fours, not standing on its back legs) for security. It really hit home the need for careful posting in the public section.

Hi All,

I'm back after my vacation and have been asked by the police not to mention any more details surrounding the theft and subsequent investigatins on any quad bike forum. The police and insurance companies believe thieves are using these forums to their advantage - even registering and building up trust on the forumes to gradually build up knowledge.

To reduce any future risk to others, can I suggest that admins monitor all quad pictures added to the site directly and remove any photos that contain registration numbers if the uploader has not alredy removed the number from display.

So, I'd like to write more and answer your questions, but cant as the police investigation and insurance company investigation is underway.

Cheers ......
