Due to tonights ride cancellation I am riding this sunday, the route will take us down to the West Meon bikers cafe for lunch, leaving Basingstoke Morrisons at 9am, so you sleepy heads will get a lie in .
Maybe the pompey lads can meet us at the cafe and ride back through the Meon valley with us ?

Bikes are always welcome with us .

I hope this is an acronym for `accident and emergency` and not a spelling mistake or an attempt to beat the swear word filter LOL

Big Jim

Was that the cafe we went to? As it was nice, not as friendly & efficient staff as Popham though.

Can't come out to play until my new drive belt turns up

Thanks for telling me tonights ride was cancelled!!!

i got propositioned 12 times outside that bloody garage........... might have been something to do with Noggers sending me a PM saying it was a "Village People" themed fancy dress ride :(

RED PRED
19th June 2009, 09:50 PM
Carl, this was your reply in that thread;

Would love to come and play but probably gonna be working late....... oh and me lights are shite

Its a pretty negative reply I think, I did post that it was cancelled ;

RED PRED

I aim to be there folks, so is the plan to meet at Basingstoke Morrisons for 9AM? Unfortunately, due to awaiting a replacement part I'll be pull starting tomorrow... it started OK today... so were see what tomorrow is like!

Hopefully see you all there!

so the cafe at 11 am it is then. think i can find one victim to come with me ,one of our "newbies" but he is as keen as you like..

RED PRED
20th June 2009, 08:15 PM
Excellent, we will aim to get to the cafe at 11am too, tell them to get the sausages on lol .
Plonk, your pull start should be ok, perople will think you have a lawnmower !!
Secret, what quad has your newbie got and is Water Lane on the menu, could show you Binsted swamp too as its just down the road from Water Grav, err Lane lol ?

We need to leave basingstoke Morrisons by 9am to give us plenty of time to get to West meon .

secret solo
20th June 2009, 08:23 PM
Cmon graham, you should not have to ask what quad one of us pompey lot have, it has to be a raptor !!!
I took 2 newbies out a few weeks ago, both got raptors and both were on a large learning curve..
Took them down water lane, took them everywhere, no mercy shown and even took them back up the horrible slippy chalky slope just out side of hawkley with one back flip but he managed to catch the quad and set it down !!!
Water lane has to always be on the menu (cept in winter when that bloody great hole is full of water)
Tomorrows newbie has only been out green laning once and has never ridden a bike before so is a little slow but has potential !!!

RED PRED
20th June 2009, 08:28 PM
Correct me if I am wrong but isnt there a chap with a 4x4 QZ500 down your way LOL, I guess thats his prob lol !
Binsted Swamp would be good for a newbie, just to watch his quad disappear lol .

SLOW IS SAFE REMEMBER !

He did turn up in the car park where we meet once but never ventured out onto the lanes.

Did you know you can ride around that big hole, i did last time, down the side of the field on the right as you go down the lane .

RED PRED

So who was the newbie QZ that you took down that nasty byway in your video ?

secret solo
20th June 2009, 09:46 PM

Great ride today guys, thats the best route for us basingstoke peeps, so many byways, from basingstoke to west meon cafe mainly on byways and then lots of byways to make a nice circular route aropund west meon and back to alton, thanks for showing us some new lanes secret .
Was good to see you guys (as always) .
It worked out nice meeting the pompey guys at the cafe-perfect .

Too right Graham - was a fantastic route!

A lesson to be learnt however, always check your coolant level! Plock here just started heading home when he noticed the temperature warning light had come on... after stopping and investigating, plock had none in the tank!

Luckily, obviously, as prepared as I am, I gave plock some water from my backpack...

Written in third person because surely I wouldn't forget to check my coolant level, would I?

Evidently...

Its more than just riding a quad, its all about sharing top quality time with a bunch of blokes, the fine art of conversation amongst fellow men, the sharing of knowledge among the eductaed or the teaching of those less knowledgeable, above all else, it beats talking to the missus .

GRRRRRRRRRRRR MAN STUFF-DONT KNOCK IT !!

Disagree - my family are great, just need a little down time occasionally.

I understand that your missus looks like ting tong and so you must get out of the house as often as possible. Serves you right for having a thai bride ladyboy hahaha

you are so *** lol !!!!!!!

Nogbad, all this `***` stuff is getting rather boring and stupid now, it was a laugh but has well and truly passed its sell by date !

When I go quadding, I allow a whole day out otherwise whats the point, a days quadding is about more than just riding, I enjoy the company equally as much as the riding, we have some great characters on this site and it would not be half as much fun just to do a two hour ride and then piss off without having a giggle .
Obviously some prefer our sunday roast hot lol

Big Jim
22nd June 2009, 02:01 PM
The *** stuff isn't funny anymore?

Oh well, we had a good run.

Take care and all the best for the future Graham, good bye.

Nogbad

Don't go Big Jim - Graham doesn't mean it.

I suspect he is being leant on by some-one else LOL

Timo
22nd June 2009, 02:41 PM
I ache today. Lesson from the day is make sure when going down water lane, you can see and learn from someone in front of you who has done it before and can actually get down it, rather than crash, bash and smash down it like i did.
Sorry if i seemed a slight kill joy yesterday, apparently the whole day was planned for my 3 yr old and me to do things for fathers day, I then decided to go out and play instead. Needed to get back at a reasonable time to regain some of the days efforts.

RED PRED
22nd June 2009, 03:14 PM
Second that, dont go Big Jim .
I am not being leant on by anyone, the *** stuff is a bit boring, there is a lot more to having a laugh than poking fun at the minority groups of the world, its victimisation, like try thinking up something topical, witty or even sarcastic with a point !
Nogbad you got it wrong, I said my wife is like King Kong !
I also think we need to split the groups of riders in to two, those who are serious about quadding and want to be out for the day and those want to do a couple of hours then go home to put their slippers on :D

Nogbad
22nd June 2009, 03:43 PM
That might be a good idea Graham. I was out for 7 hours yesterday so not sure which group I would fall into, with or without slippers.

Graham, I just think you may want to consider that yesterday, being Fathers Day, people had things lined up and so couldn't stay out as long as normal.

Thats my last comment on this thread !!!

:D

RED PRED

Being fathers day i would have thought it would be one day of the year when you can go out all day and do what you want without any complaining from any one else???...
either way we covered many lanes on a variety of surfaces so we all had a good ride and no one died or was fatally wounded.
It worked well for me as i never ate dust once :)

Thats exactly my point !!

What did work really well was meeting at Loomies, it meant that nobody had to do a horrible long road trip to meet up, its really easy to get there in an hour and a half using byways and a bit of road, could do it within an hour if upped the pace .

plock

I thought you were riding fairly calmly Graham, I thought for a minute I had improved and got a mile an hour faster! Wishful thinking I suppose!

Was a good trip down to Meon Valley, good trip around and a good trip back up North… slightly… an all round good day!

Thanks Graham and Secret for your time in routing us about! :)

I was riding slow because my shoulder has only just recovered from my bike accident a month ago and I dont want to hurt it again before the Isle of Wight trip, I might slow down anyway, have had too many near misses with bikes, horses and other animals (including ramblers), deep holes, roots etc, I dont want to have a big quad off like Butch did !
And as for the person/s who tied that rope across the byway at Selborne, I hope your next dump contains razor blades, what an evil b*st*rd to do that .

Big Jim, *** jokes are no longer permitted on this forum LOL

I have no problem with *** jokes as long as they are jokes and not just silly comments for the sake of it, I love humour and appreciate a well thought out joke about anything, or sarcastic/witty banter with a point LOLOLOLOLOL etc !

PS

Sorry got confused, the string was well dodgy, is anyone a member of the TRF? they probably have ways of dealing with this sort of thing............. i imagine the old bill would just give the culprits some stronger string if they found them!
Thats after they questioned what a quad was, is it road legal and are you allowed on green lanes.
