Hi RedPred,

Please tell us if you had a good day yesterday,

but, more importantly for anyone planning a long weekend in Guernsey, please tell us in 2000 words or less your travel report of Guernsey. Please include tourist attractions, local amenities, things to do, trips, places to eat out, how long the flight was, how much did it cost etc.

Bloody brilliant Jim LMFAO .
Who do you think I am, Judith Chalmers ??

Well, the day started ok with a 07.00 start, half hour drive to Southampton Airport where I had to park on the 2nd level as the car park lower level was full, I then made my way down the stairs, over the zebra crossing (you did not know there was wildlife at the airport did you ?) and into the Departure Terminal, I went to the Flybe self check in machine and got my tickets, on the outbound flight I sat in seat 19D and on the return I sat in 3A, the plane was a Bombardier 400 Dash 8 twin turbo prop .
I then went to the toilet for a pee and then got a Daily Express and proceeded to the departure lounge, I had to remove my coat and shoes for the XRay machine .
Once through security I made my way to the cafe for a bacon roll, Pecan danish and a bucket of coffee and waited for the flight boarding .
The flight was ok, it took 35 minutes and was smooth all the way .
Straight through arrivals, out of the terminal and into a taxi which cost £10 to St Peter Port, the islands capital .
Was dropped off at the site, donned my high vi vest, safety boots and helmet and checked into the site via a palm reader, made my way to the Basement car park of the new Royal Chambers apartment block and began surveying the building for the installation on a new sprinkler system .
I completed my works at approx 15.00hrs and took a taxi back to the airport .
Seeing as my return flight was not until 16.10hrs I went into the cafe and had giant jacket potato with a really nice chilli and a bucket of coffee, not bad value at £6.40 .
The flight back was uneventful and took 30 minutes .
The car park cost £18.10 ! for the day, I had a 30 minute drive home and that is it, so if you want to know what Guernsey is like go and buy a guide book you tight wad LOL .

I've never liked the idea of visiting Guernsey, but having read this in-depth report, it sounds great. I might go now.

I do know that the people of Guernsey have sex because a few years ago one of our fitters was staying out there working and he caught the Guernsey clap !

Thank you for the insight in to Guernsey Graham.

Like Nogbad, I had never fancied going to Guensey until reading your Judith Charmers sytle travel guide.

Now I would like to go.

I would also like a go on that oh so naughty Judith Charmers, she is one cheeky minx.

She certainly is Jim but you will have to join the queue !
The one thing I want to see in Guernsey is the Nazi Occupation Museum,

Coming from a another small island not far from Guernsey we have a few sayings for them. We call them "Donkeys" for a start, although they call us "crapauds" (a jersey toad). We also have a saying "red sky at night Jerseymans delight, Guernseys on fire".

All in jest of course.

Only been a few times but seems a nice place, if you like inbreds of course :)
