So......
Im driving along the A4, on my way to my regular stalking point near Kate Bushes house when all of a sudden i feel a wobble from the back of the Quad, Hmmmm So i stop and notice my chain is very slack. Get back on and the whole back end is shifting around. So i decide to go back home, Kate will just have to cope without me this weekend.
Get home, jack the back end up, pull on the back axle - lots of moment, wobbling all over the place.
Doh !!!!! Im out of action guys. Better find my spanners.

You have knackered it with all that fast acceleration and rough treatment whilst chasing butterflies .
I suspect the rear axle housing will be knackered as well as the bearing, oh well, another warranty job .

Danny what have you done, you've got all these days off to ride and now nothing to ride on. Good job these Polaris's have a good warranty!

Its ironic, good warranties-crap bearings lol .
Its strange how the rear bearings fail like they do, they are taper roller bearings which should last longer than standard spherical bearings, the only reasons for premature failure, as far as I can see are, not being set correctly, lack of lubrication and ingress of dirt etc .
I also think the original equipment bearings on Polaris are crap because my front wheel bearings supplied by Off Road Only (All Balls) have lasted longer than the standard ones and are still in great shape .

I agree with you RP all balls bearings i have just changed the front bearings on my raptor all they have to stop water getting is the outer seals, but on the the all balls, the bearings are also covered by a plastic covering no exposed bearings.
But considering the crap they go thorough have no complaints its taken nearly 2 years to go.

Quite right Malcolm, quad components certainly do have a hard life, I allow to replace all bearings each year anyway but its a bonus if you dont need to, I am surprised my track rod ends and steering joints are still good ?

I would put "back end" bearing failure down to bad engineering design, putting too much stress on bearings, causing them to fail.

When my rear end failed, it was probably down to ingress of crap caused by the seals failing .
remember, if your rear end fails, go to casualty !

Just had a thought, if it was down to stress on the bearings then Danny`s rear bearings would last forever lol .

Just for the record, a Polaris scrambler fits great into a SWB ford transit. Went on fine using ramps . But don't try to drive it on or you'll take your head off !!!
Your wont get anything else on though.
So steve is fixing the quad and i hope to be back out on the trails ASAP.

Back in the day she was a right hottie, I don't blame you for stalking her.
Apparantly years ago she used to go naked up to the top of her garden to meditate. Don't know if she still does (or ever did, I have no proof). Like to think its true though.
Some of her songs are a bit weird though

Jim,
If your ever in the area, ill be happy to take you to see the bottem of her garden. We might get lucky. Shes older now, but so am I and I still think shes a fox.
This may be a topic of big jims worlds, but i honestly believe the older a woman is the more she knows how to make things work *cough*. When i was at uni I went with some real stunning girls and really they were crap. Had no idea what they were doing. Good companionship takes experiance and practice.

That would be a good thread, photo's of us getting arrested for hiding at the bottom of Bush's garden!
Oh, and who cares how old she is now, I would still love to 'prune Kate's bush' as you expertly put it.
Why not, as soon as I have the quad sorted lets do it ! ! ! !
