Ive just found a very usefull bit of kit that locks you quad brake on so it cant be pushed away and if you have twist trottle it prevents it being twisted.

That looks really great.

Iv'e gone to a lot of trouble to try and make my quad secure. It sickens me that they get nicked so easily. I've had a expensive monitored alarm put in the house and garage to deter thieves, and like many i have a ground anchor.

I am now thinking about installing one of those system that send an alarm to your mobile if the quad gets moved. I dont live in a particular bad area for crime, but having a quad definatly gets you noticed.

Well its cheep and noticeable so a good deterant if nothing else.
Some 1 had said on another forum that you could just cut the brake lines and push it away which is poss. but all the mixture of locks and alarms and other deterants should make them think twice about nicking it???
:confused::confused:

what would be good for people is a tracker system, just would not work on my quad:mad:, and wheel clamp, because if they did cut the cables it would not move.

get's rid of my threoy of cutting the cables.

the only thing i have done to mine is to put a disc lock on my rear brake, that way they have to:

1. pick the rear off the quad up and walk with it (never going to happen, things to bloody heavy! )

2. bray the rear disk to piece's which is hard to keep silent at night

3. take the rear brakes apart which is pointless as the lock hits the frame any way

4. use bolt cutters to cut the lock- again impossible, it is made of hardened steel, you cannot even get the bolt cutters in and it still makes a loud noise.

it's really amzing what £4.99 can do.

I think you'll find that a angle grinder, bought from most DIY shops will go through any/lock chain. They will make a hell of a lot of sound doing it.

I think i read a post on another forum from a guy who had done some tests with wheel locks and angle grinders. The results were depressing to say the least !!

I had a long think about using a tracker on the bike and decided against it. If the bike gets nicked, i dont want it back anyway.Id rather spend the money preventing the theft.

I have datataged it though, just to help the ole bill get a conviction.

Does anyone use one of those systems that send a SMS to a mobile phone of the quad has been moved. I quite like that idea ?

Any idea of make/price etc.
